Football: Caernarfon Wanderers FC go top of district league

CAERNARFON Wanderers roared to the top of Safeflue Caernarfon and District League Division One with a deserved derby victory over Caernarfon Borough.

Congratulation to the hughes Brothers on their goals against Pwllheli Reserves, Scott Scoring 4 and Lee scoring 2, other goals came from a Ben Davies Wonder strike and a bullet header from from Martin Williams, Rangers welcomes new signing Ben Bolton to todays squad he recently won the Welsh School Cup alaongside Rangers player Andrew Owen and Ben & Luke Davies.

COUNTDOWN TO KICK OFF - Caernarfon and District League

TWO divisions will be operated after all in the Safeflue Caernarfon and District League in the new season, which kicks off this Saturday, with 17 teams in membership – three down on the projected figure.

Since the league's annual meeting in June, when 20 sides had been contemplated – 10 at each level - resignations were submitted by Bethesda Athletic, Caernarfon Town and Deiniolen.

One option which the league management committee considered was to switch to one bumper competition but that would have involved too many games and the decision was made to continue with the split arrangement.

The original ten teams will feature in Division One and the surviving seven will be in Division Two, with two cups on offer to all and the Moorings Cup reintroduced for the lower level sides.
